Platypus Respects Your Right to Privacy

This site is owned by Platypus CO Foundation. This privacy policy has been developed to explain our policy with respect to the privacy of users of this site and our practices regarding collection, use, and disclosure of information that you may provide via this site.

Your personal information belongs to you. When we refer to "personal information", we mean any information about an identifiable individual. We feel that it is your right to be able to conduct business with Platypus in a safe and secure environment, and to know how your personal information is being used.

Your personal information will never be shared, traded, sold or used in any manner not explicitly approved by you. We do not swap mailing lists or share customer information. The only circumstances under which we would divulge any personal information to a third party (other than our credit card processing company) is upon subpoena or order from a legitimate court, police agency, the CRA, or if requested by a credit card issuer in the case of a dispute. In any case when your information is shared, Platypus will demand reasonable assurance that third parties will protect your information in conformity with our privacy practices.

From time to time, Platypus may share statistics that describe how our visitors use our site. This might include information such as the average transaction amount, how transactions break down by geographic area, or what times of the day have the heaviest transaction traffic. None of these statistics will ever reveal any personally-identifiable or individual information. This information allows Platypus to better serve its customers and use its marketing resources more efficiently.

If you choose to become a member of our online community, our registration form requires users to provide us with personal contact information (name, address, e-mail, etc.). We use this information to keep you updated on Platypus and to send you information that we think you might be interested in. You may opt-out at any time by following the instructions in any email that you receive.

The Platypus website may contain links or references to other sites. Platypus is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these other sites. Visitors to these linked sites should read the privacy statements of each and every site that they visit.

Platypus Online Security Policy

Your privacy and security is important to us. We work carefully to ensure that your personal information is kept safe and secure throughout the transaction process. Our site is built on one of the most respected web application platforms available, and is protected against unauthorized activity by robust hardware and software security systems.

On any pages where you share or store personal information or perform financial transactions, Platypus encrypts your data using Secure Socket Layers (SSL). This allows you to send and receive information without the worry of having sensitive data (such as your credit card or home address) intercepted by anyone other than yourself and Platypus.

Our online transactions are secure. We will collect and store the following information in order to process the order: name, address, phone number, email address and credit card information. We use your information to process your transaction and to verify credit card data. The storage of personal information helps protect you against credit card fraud, because the records of all transactions are kept for reference in the case of a dispute.

Our online credit card processing system is handled by beanstream (web.beanstream.com). Information is relayed to them through secure channels using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). The information sent to them is only to verify credit card numbers and process the order in a secure environment.

Privacy is important to you, and it is important to us.
